SWINS and HBM-nCode host a successful three day seminar in Shanghai
Annual seminar focuses on fatigue and durability applications for designing reliable products
The 2015 SWINS Fatigue and Durability Seminars attracted 140 engineers and specialists to Shanghai April 21-23. Attendees represented over 60 companies including leading manufacturers, such as Ford Motor Company, Tenneco, Volvo Construction, Emerson, PATAC, SAIC Group, Guangzhou Auto, Great Wall Auto, Hongdu Aero, and Sifang Rail. During the first two days, HBM-nCode and SWINS durability experts delivered several technical sessions and product training, covering the principles of fatigue theory and nCode software applications for durability engineering practices. Most notably and new for this year’s event, 12 attendees were selected to present their latest projects and experiences on day three.
The conference programme began on April 21 with keynote speaker from Tenneco Shanghai. “This seminar has greatly helped me and my colleagues to accumulate our fatigue knowledge and to develop practical engineering skills!” said Mr. Yan Jiawu of Tenneco Shanghai. “We are so pleased with the world-class level of seminar and thank HBM-nCode and SWINS for their great work.”
SWINS' fatigue and durability seminars have become a very popular event in China. It has provided a platform for durability engineers and managers to gain fatigue knowledge and deepen the understanding of the complete durability process and related engineering tasks across many industries. Participants are also given the opportunity to network and share their experiences and expertise.
“We have been working with HBM-nCode to promote durability technologies and products in China for nearly ten years”, said Mr. Xu Xianzhong, Managing Director of Shanghai SWINS. “These seminars are an annual highlight for us and our customers, and attendance has grown regularly. We were delighted to see so many customers interested in presenting their durability applications to the seminar attendees. We have seen great progress in the area of fatigue and durability applications from the success of this seminar and we are very confident that HBM-nCode products are meeting the needs of the Chinese market.”
“We have some fatigue knowledge and experiences before but this seminar helped us clarify some of our key technical uncertainties, said Mr Ren Xiaofei and Dr. Mi Chengji of Yutong Bus. We now have a deeper understanding of the fatigue and durability process at a higher level. We really enjoyed the high level topics and discussions during this seminar.”
