Applications Engineer - Southfield, MI USA

The Applications Engineer will provide pre- and post-sales technical software support to customers and the HBM-nCode sales team. This posted position is specific to supporting nCode DesignLife software, which is used for finite element (FE) based fatigue and durability prediction..

Position Responsibilities:

• Understand customers’ durability analysis requirements
• Demonstrate nCode software, especially nCode DesignLife, to current and prospective customers
• Provide technical support to existing customers for nCode software, investigating problems and proposing solutions
• Present software and technical training courses for customers
• Test alpha and beta nCode software releases for functionality and quality
• Provide feedback to HBM-nCode product management on future software functionality
• Provide software consultancy for customer project work
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• A degree in engineering (or science degree + industry experience)
• Working knowledge of engineering durability topics such as fatigue and structural analysis
• Knowledge of FE-based durability and fatigue software like nCode DesignLife or FE-Fatigue
• Working knowledge of industry-standard FE analysis software such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, or NASTRAN
• Knowledge of nCode products and associated technologies
• Ability to listen to customers and interpret requirements and requests
• Sound engineering judgment
• Good presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Good team working skills with colleagues and customers
• High standard of professional integrity
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• US citizenship
