Vibration, Frequency, and Acoustic Analysis

Course Overview

This course will show you how to use nCode VibeSys software to quickly and efficiently turn measured vibration and acoustics data into actionable information. 

Class time is split between lecture on data analysis techniques and hands-on sessions where you will put concepts into action using nCode VibeSys.

Course Objectives

  • Analyze acoustic and vibration data with pre-designed engineering functions called ‘glyphs’
  • Solve engineering problems related to noise and vibration
  • Display and interpret results
  • Understand analysis techniques including signal processing, spectral analysis, and order tracking

Course Concepts

  • Displaying and interpreting acoustic and vibration data in different domains:
    • Time domain
    • Frequency domain
    • Revolution domain
    • Waterfall and order domain 
  • Identifying modal parameters from measured data
  • Animation of wireframes and finite element models from measured vibration data
  • Comparison and correlation of mode shapes and frequencies with analytical results from finite element modeling
  • Obtaining metrics for acoustic quality
  • Obtaining metrics for human body vibration per ISO-2631, -5349, and others

The schedule assumes that the attendees have already attended the prerequisite nCode GlyphWorks training course. 

Who Should Attend?

The course is aimed at NVH, acoustics, and dynamics engineers who need to analyze measured vibration data. 

This data is typically channels like acceleration, sound pressure, etc. from the field, proving ground, or laboratory.

It is assumed that attendees are familiar with data measurement practices and general signal processing concepts. 

Attendance of an nCode GlyphWorks training course is a prerequisite for this course.
