Practical Fatigue Theory (2-day)
This two-day lecture offers a technical introduction to the theory and background of fatigue and durability analysis. The physics of fatigue and the historical development of design methods are covered. This leads to an appreciation of how traditional techniques and newer methods offer benefits in the quest to provide durable products faster, cheaper and better.
This lecture will cover:
- Introduction to fatigue and durability
- The S-N approach
- The factors affecting fatigue
- The local Strain (E-N) approach
- Hand Calculations
